Automatic Membership Renewal Terms and Conditions

Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (“RAIC”)
Automatic Membership Renewal Terms and Conditions

By choosing to enroll in automatic renewal of your RAIC membership, you, the member, agree to comply with the following terms and conditions. These terms and conditions may be amended by the RAIC without prior written notice or consent from you, in which case the changes will only apply upon the next renewal of your membership.

1. Renewal Method

By choosing to enroll in automatic membership renewal, your membership will be automatically renewed without any further action from you at the end of each membership period. Membership automatic renewal will continue until you choose to cancel your enrollment in accordance with these Terms and Conditions. If you do not choose to enroll in automatic membership renewal, you must manually renew your membership at the end of each membership period, or your membership will expire.

2. Membership Period

Your annual membership fee is for one period of twelve (12) months, starting on January 1stof the calendar year in which the fee is paid and ending on December 31st of that calendar year. You understand and agree that membership fees will not be pro-rated and the full annual fee will be charged regardless of the date of your enrollment or payment.

3. Payment Method

The annual membership fee for automatically renewed memberships will be processed using your designated credit card. You understand and agree that it is your responsibility to maintain a valid payment method. In the event of a failed payment, you will receive notice of the failure from the RAIC, and you may be subject to an additional administrative fee. If you do not provide a valid alternative payment method before the expiry of your membership period, your membership will not be automatically renewed, your membership will expire, and you will lose access to all benefits.

4. Notification of Automatic Renewal

You will receive an invoice to the e-mail address associated with your RAIC communications subscription thirty (30) days prior to the charge date, and again fifteen (15) days prior to the charge date. The invoice will include the details of your upcoming membership renewal payment, along with information on updating your designated credit card information, cancelling your enrollment in automatic membership renewal, and any changes in membership fees and applicable taxes.

You understand that it is your responsibility to maintain your membership profile and to subscribe to communications from the RAIC to receive these invoices and notifications.

5. Billing and Charge Date

The renewal fee for your membership will be automatically processed on your scheduled charged date each year. Your charge date will be the same calendar date as your previous year’s renewal, if any, or on December 31stif you did not have a renewal the previous year or if your previous renewal date was later than February 28thof that year. You can check your scheduled charge date via the RAIC online membership portal. To request a change in the scheduled charge date, you must contact membership@raic.orgif your request at least five (5) business days before the scheduled charge date.

6. Cancelling Automatic Renewal

You may cancel your enrollment in automatic renewal of your RAIC membership at any time by contacting membership@raic.orgwith your request or by updating your payment settings via the RAIC online membership portal. If you cancel your enrollment or cease to be a member of RAIC, you will cease to be automatically charged any further membership fees as of your next scheduled charge date and your membership will not be automatically renewed for the following membership period. If your membership is not renewed, you will lose access to all benefits.
