The RAIC is seeking educators, subject matter experts (SME), and course developers to work together on the development and administration of new educational initiatives for the RAIC Continuing Education program.   

The RAIC is committed to highly interactive, hybrid learning experiences. As such, all courses will include an online component. Some courses will be designed exclusively for online learning.

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA) are proud to announce the recipients of the Governor General’s Medals in Architecture.  

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) and the National Trust for Canada announce that the Niagara Parks Commission’s Butterfly Conservatory is the recipient of the 2020 Prix du XXe Siècle Award of Excellence. Additionally, the Humber River Bicycle and Pedestrian Bridge have received a Certificate of Merit. This annual award recognizes and celebrates Canada’s landmark buildings of the 20th century.

The RAIC is honoured to announce that two firms have been selected for the Emerging Architectural Practice Award. PARTISANS, a Toronto-based architecture studio, and the Charlottetown’s Nine Yards Studio are the recipients for 2020.

The RAIC maintains a library of practice builder resources available to members and non-members through the RAIC Store. Practice evolves and practice builder resources need to be updated to address the factors that influence the profession.

A volunteer position is open on the CCDC panel for an RAIC representative from Quebec. The candidate must be conversant in construction contracts and possess ample experience in the design-construction industry to understand the nuances of client-contractor and client-architect relationships. The candidate should be familiar with the Civil Code as it applies to construction contracts, payment, lien rights, and related legislation.
