Members of the College are invited to nominate their peers for the position of Registrar of the RAIC College. The term of Claudio Brun del Re, FRAIC, of Ottawa, who is the current Registrar, ends May 13, 2022.  

The Registrar is responsible for recording all actions taken at the Convocation and meetings of the National Committee. 

The Registrar will serve a three-year term, which begins at the RAIC College Annual Luncheon in May 2022. 

“It is with regret that I will not be seeking a second mandate for my time as Registrar within the RAIC College after the 2022 Conference in Vancouver.  It has been a greatly rewarding experience promoting excellence in the built environment and within the College. 

I support all RAIC members in playing an active role within the RAIC and encourage College members to consider nominations for the position of Registrar.

The Royal Architectural Institute of Canada (RAIC) announces the shortlist for the 2022 RAIC International Prize for socially transformative architecture. A nine-member jury chose the following finalists, a natural swimming pool in Edmonton, a soccer stadium in Montreal and warming huts in Winnipeg. The prize winner will be announced and celebrated virtually in June 2022. 
 
2022 marks the fourth edition of the biennial prize, which was founded in 2013 and is open to architects from anywhere in the world. 
 
“These three projects, shortlisted for the RAIC International Prize, epitomize the values of this special award – that the projects be socially transformative, as well as promoting human values. This short list is a testament to the quality of Canadian architecture and architectural practice today,” said Jury Chair Susan Ruptash Architect, FRAIC OAA.

Fenestration Canada is the national organization representing Canada’s window and door industry, with members in every province, organized under five regional chapters: Pacific, Prairie, Ontario, Québec, and Atlantic. From time to time Fenestration Canada publishes useful public industry documents, such as the “NAFS Labeling Guidelines for Canada” and the “Canadian Code Compliance Advisory for Imported Windows, Doors and Skylights”.

An annual contest that celebrates excellence, the creative talent of professionals and the clients who trust them. Your projects from the last three years are eligible and the competition is open to all design and architecture professionals and students, as well as to real estate developers, contractors, manufacturers, and clients who have called upon these professionals to design their projects and products in several disciplines and categories. In addition to the long list of benefits offered to the winners, see here, the contest offers a guaranteed visibility to all its candidates.

The images of the products and projects submitted to the contest will be added free of charge to the Get inspired search engine of the INT.design portal. The winners and their projects are also presented in two special editions of INTÉRIEURS magazine entirely dedicated to the competition and two Awards Galas, a true celebration of design excellence, are organized each year in Montréal and Québec city, Canada.
