A series of activities and events will honour exceptional achievements and dedication to architecture while acting as a forum for important discussions focused on climate action within the context of social justice, equality, and diversity in the profession. The RAIC Convocation Ceremony and Reception (October 2nd) will formally recognize RAIC members and distinguished laypersons who have made outstanding contributions to the profession. The ceremony also recognizes graduates of the RAIC Syllabus Program. The RAIC 2022 Congress on Architecture – RAIC Climate Action and Architecture (October 3rd), will focus on Climate Action and Architecture and the development of the RAIC Climate Action Engagement and Enablement Plan. The RAIC Celebration of Excellence Reception and Dinner (October 3rd) will honour individuals and teams whose dedication to architecture has led to exceptional achievements in design excellence, sustainability, innovation, and more. The RAIC and the Canadian Precast Prestressed Concrete Institute (CPCI) will co-host a special continuing education event titled Modular & Prefab the Future of Design & Construction (October 4th). This event will feature five sessions on a range of topics focused on the future of pre-cast concrete in the context of climate action and innovation. The RAIC will also be co-hosting a special event with Building Equality in Architecture Atlantic (BEAA) titled Perspectives from Atlantic Canada: Climate Action and Inclusivity in the Built Environment (October 4th). This event is a live, virtual broadcast that will be presented at in-person events hosted at the Algonquin Resort in Saint Andrews, NB, Halifax, NS, Charlottetown, PEI, Saint John, NB and St. John’s, NL.
