Fenestration Canada is the national organization representing Canada’s window and door industry, with members in every province, organized under five regional chapters: Pacific, Prairie, Ontario, Québec, and Atlantic. Our membership is composed of manufacturers, suppliers and stakeholders based in Canada as well as U.S. and overseas businesses that serve the Canadian market. Architects will appreciate the convenience of the NAFS Performance Grade Calculator on our website that provides an easy and convenient way to determine the required Performance Grade and Water Penetration Resistance Test Pressure for fenestration project specifications, based on a building’s location and terrain, using data from CSA A440S1-17, Canadian Supplement to AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-11, NAFS—North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors and skylights. Our annual WinDoor trade show is Canada’s largest and longest-running annual event of its kind, and allied events such as the annual in-person meeting of the CSA A440 Technical Committee on Windows are scheduled to coincide with it. Our mission includes educating industry participants about changes to the regulatory environment, such as provincial energy regulations, updates to industry standards, and changes to national and provincial building codes. The Technical Services Committee engages with technical, standards, and regulatory matters, and has members that participate actively in Canadian and US standards organizations, and in Canada’s code development process. Our chapters engage with issues that are particular to one or more regions of the country. From time to time Fenestration Canada publishes useful public industry documents, such as the “NAFS Labeling Guidelines for Canada” and the “Canadian Code Compliance Advisory for Imported Windows, Doors and Skylights”. |
