Get your ticket for the Indigenous Architecture and Design Symposium

The RAIC’s first ever International Indigenous Architecture and Design Symposium takes place in Ottawa on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

The symposium promises to be an exceptional occasion with an estimated 120 delegates, including international and Canadian Indigenous architects, allied design and building professionals, students, and interns. Representatives of business, media, academia and government will also gather at the Wabano Centre.  Designed by Indigenous architect Douglas Cardinal, the building is a beautiful and culturally expressive place to experience this ground-breaking event.

 


 

 

Know your Keynotes

The 2017 festival of architecture boasts some impressive special guests and speakers.

Daniel Libeskind, an international figure in architecture and urban design, is the keynote speaker for the Foundation Lunch.

Edward Mazria, internationally recognized architect, author, researcher, and educator, as well as founder of Architecture 2030, will give an address at the plenary session.

Jeanne Gang is founding principal of Studio Gang and a 2017 Honourary Fellow of the RAIC. She will be giving the keynote address at the Fellows Convocation Ceremony.

The Ottawa Regional Society of Architects is inviting all conference attendees and guests to gather on May 25 at Zibi’s La Shoppe; an historic former industrial space. The social will feature performances by local musicians, drinks and hors d’oeuvres by local restaurants, and a cash bar. Shuttle buses will operate between the venue and the conference hotel throughout the evening.
