On October 26, 2017, the RAIC presented to the Senate Standing Committee on Energy, the Environment and Natural Resources on their study on the effects of transitioning to a low-carbon economy. Emmanuelle van Rutten, MRAIC, Director for Ontario North East & Nunavut, presented a report with content from the Committee on Regenerative Environments (CORE). The report outlined what architects and the RAIC are doing to address environmental issues; identified barriers to innovations and made recommendations.
The RAIC, with the support of its members, is being recognized as a leader in the field of green building and sustainable design.
